2026-27 Celtics Fantasy Preview

The Celtics flipped Jaylen Brown for an aging but hopefully still-productive Paul George. Can the Celtics players deliver the fantasy value we’ve been used to seeing over the last three years?

Jayson Tatum, SF/PF

📊 Trend: ⬆️

🗝️ Key Stats: PTS, REB, AST, 3PM

⚠️ Risk: 🟠➡️🟢 Medium to Low

🔓 Value Unlock: Recover his pre-injury FG%, while retaining last season’s elevated rebounding rate

💡 Quick Hits: Tatum returned late in 2025-26 after suffering a torn Achilles and looked close to his old self. He remains one of fantasy basketball's most well-rounded forwards.

❓ Big Question(s): Can he carry the Celtics to the playoffs and return to his pre-injury form for 75-plus games?

🎯 Draft Range: 8-12

⭐ Fantasy Take: While Tatum can return to top-tier form, there’s no urgency to target him aggressively, unlike in the past. He’s someone you’d be happy to land on your lap if he falls outside the top 10.

Derrick White, PG/SG

📊 Trend: ↔️ to ⬆️

🗝️ Key Stats: STL, BLK, 3PM, TO

⚠️ Risk: 🟢 Low

🔓 Value Unlock: Recover from career-low FG% (39.4%), retain 1.4 BPG

💡 Quick Hits: White struggled when a larger offensive role was put on his shoulders last season. He thrives more when other players are handling the primary scoring duties. If a healthy duo of Tatum and Paul George can stay on the court, White should be fine.

❓ Big Question(s): Can White balance an expanded role while retaining his strong defensive contributions in fantasy?

🎯 Draft Range: 30-35

⭐ Fantasy Take: White’s calling card is his elite blocks for a guard, while still being a high-volume 3-point shooter. He’s a sneaky, underrated BLK booster.

Paul George, SG/SF/PF

📊 Trend: ⬇️

🗝️ Key Stats: PTS, STL, 3PM

⚠️ Risk: 🔴 High

🔓 Value Unlock: More games played, steady scoring with 3s and steals

💡 Quick Hits: George has long been labeled as “injury-prone,” and for good reason. He played over 60 games just once in the last five seasons. That said, he did look pretty good in the playoffs for the Sixers last season.

❓ Big Question(s): Does he still have anything left in the fantasy tank?

🎯 Draft Range: 65-75

⭐ Fantasy Take: George is worth considering only if he falls in risk-averse leagues.

Neemias Queta, C

📊 Trend: ⬆️

🗝️ Key Stats: REB, BLK, FG%, TO

⚠️ Risk: 🟢 Low

🔓 Value Unlock: Improved scoring, a bump from last season’s 25.3 MPG

💡 Quick Hits: Queta had a solid mini-breakout campaign in 2025-26 as the Celtics’ starting center. Continued improvement on the offensive end of the court will be key.

❓ Big Question(s): Queta looked good and was a pleasant surprise in fantasy last season, but how much better can he get?

🎯 Draft Range: 75-85

⭐ Fantasy Take: Queta is the type of player who can be overlooked, so use his under-the-radar image to your benefit.

Payton Pritchard, PG/SG

📊 Trend: ⬆️

🗝️ Key Stats: PTS, AST, 3PM, FG%, TO

⚠️ Risk: 🟢 Low

🔓 Value Unlock: Recover 3PM volume and improve scoring

💡 Quick Hits: The market was high on Pritchard last season, given his expected expanded role. Unfortunately, a drop in 3-pointers made and FG% limited his overall fantasy impact.

❓ Big Question(s): Pritchard’s progression saw a slowdown last season. Did he hit, or already touch his fantasy ceiling?

🎯 Draft Range: 85-95

⭐ Fantasy Take: Pritchard’s combination of high-volume 3s and solid FG% is at the heart of his value, making him an ideal target for fantasy teams that want a boost in 3-point shooting while preserving FG%. In that context, he can be more aggressively targeted; otherwise, let him slide closer to the 100 range, if possible.

Mitchell Robinson, C

📊 Trend: ↔️

🗝️ Key Stats: REB, BLK, FG%, TO

⚠️ Risk: 🔴 High

🔓 Value Unlock: Games played

💡 Quick Hits: Robinson is an injury-prone big man who has a knack for producing value despite limited minutes. Robinson projects as Boston's primary backup center, likely averaging around 16 to 20 minutes per game when healthy.

❓ Big Question(s): Robinson is a per-minute beast, but his fragility has limited his playing time. For him, it’s a straight-up “How many games will he play?”

🎯 Draft Range: 175-180

⭐ Fantasy Take: Given his injury risk, Robinson should be viewed more as a blocks streamer in most leagues than an actual draft-day target.

👀 Players to Watch: Hugo Gonzalez
