2026-27 Nets Fantasy Preview

Despite the arrival of a handful of veteran players, the Brooklyn Nets remain a very young team. They’re still in the early stages of a rebuild, so it will be interesting to find out who will emerge as strong fantasy contributors this season.

Michael Porter Jr., SF/PF

📊 Trend: ⬆️⬆️

🗝️ Key Stats:  PTS, REB, 3PM, FG%, FT%, TO

⚠️ Risk:  🟢 ➡️ 🟠 Low to Medium

🔓 Value Unlock: Replicate close to his breakout numbers from last season

💡 Quick Hits:  As the best player on the Nets’ roster last season, Porter exploded for the best fantasy season of his career, raising the bar with fresh career-high averages across the board.

❓ Big Question(s): If Porter is traded before the deadline, can he still hold onto A-tier fantasy value?

🎯 Draft Range: 65-75

⭐ Fantasy Take: As of now, it doesn’t appear that MPJ is part of the Nets’ long-term plans and they seem unlikely to offer him a contract extension. While he remains with Brooklyn, Porter should do quite well, but that fantasy value should be assumed to have a half-life as he won’t be as productive on a more stacked roster.

Day’Ron Sharpe, C

📊 Trend: ↔️

🗝️ Key Stats: REB, AST, STL, FG%, TO

⚠️ Risk: 🟢 Low

🔓 Value Unlock: Secure playing time in the 26-30 minute range

💡 Quick Hits: Sharpe has been an intriguing per-minute monster for a while now. This season, with Nicolas Claxton gone, Sharpe will slide into the starting center role. He’s an underrated passer and leans more into steals than blocks on defense.

❓ Big Question(s): Will Sharpe earn the needed minutes for him to breakout in fantasy this season? How will he fare, sharing the paint with Julius Randle?

🎯 Draft Range: 85-95

⭐ Fantasy Take:  Sharpe’s weaknesses are his PTS and FT%, but everything else should pop for him if the minutes and opportunities fall into place. He’s a great breakout candidate who should surprise even his biggest fantasy believers.

Julius Randle, PF/C

📊 Trend: ⬆️

🗝️ Key Stats: PTS, REB, AST, FG%

⚠️ Risk: 🟢 Low

🔓 Value Unlock: Be the Nets’ offensive hub

💡 Quick Hits: Randle stayed healthy and productive in his Year 2 with the Wolves in 2025-26, exceeding expectations, thanks to some gains in his points, assists and steals.

❓ Big Question(s): Will Randle be able to explode the same way Michael Porter Jr. did last season?

🎯 Draft Range: 80-90

⭐ Fantasy Take: Randle has always been more of a points-league guy, but he also has his moments in 9-cat. This season, he has the “good player on the Nets factor” going for him, so it’s ok to be slightly optimistic that Randle will deliver the goods.

Egor Demin, PG/SG

📊 Trend: ⬆️

🗝️ Key Stats: PTS, AST, 3PM, FT%

⚠️ Risk:  🟢 Low

🔓 Value Unlock: Assert himself by generating more rim pressure

💡 Quick Hits: Dëmin showed flashes of his shooting ability during his rookie campaign, but he really turned heads in the 2026 Summer League. While SL numbers can’t be considered predictors of future production, the eye test of his improved confidence should be the big takeaway.

❓ Big Question(s):  Can Demin’s physical transformation translate into a breakout season?

🎯 Draft Range: 125-135

⭐ Fantasy Take: Demin has some breakout potential thanks to his scoring and 3-point shooting hitting new highs. While an increase in volume will be welcome, he needs to also improve on his FG% along the way.

Mikel Brown Jr., PG

📊 Trend: N/A (Rookie)

🗝️ Key Stats:  PTS, AST, 3PM, FT%

⚠️ Risk:  🟢 Low

🔓 Value Unlock:  Thrive as the Nets’ lead playmaker

💡 Quick Hits:  Brown was selected sixth overall by the Nets in the 2026 draft and is expected to take the reins this season as their starting point guard. Yes, the team has a bunch of guards, but Brown is head and shoulders the best of the lot.

❓ Big Question(s): Can Brown deliver high-impact fantasy value from Day 1?

🎯 Draft Range:  135-145

⭐ Fantasy Take: Brown has the tools to be one of the more productive rookies in his class. If the minutes are there, his offensive versatility can carry his fantasy value, but his playmaking is what could really separate him from the typical rookie scorer. If Brown gets the ball in his hands early and often, he could become a Day 1 fantasy surprise.
