2026-27 Sixers Fantasy Preview

The Sixers may have one of the NBA’s most talented rosters, but talent can create its own fantasy problems. With Embiid, LeBron, Maxey and Brown commanding so much attention, figuring out who gets enough opportunity—and who can capitalize on the opportunities created by their teammates—could be the key to unlocking this team’s fantasy value.

Tyrese Maxey, PG/SG

📊 Trend: ⬆️⬆️

🗝️ Key Stats:  PTS, AST, STL, 3PM, FG%, FT%

⚠️ Risk:  🟢 Low

🔓 Value Unlock: Retain his high-level production despite the additions to the Sixers’ roster this season

💡 Quick Hits: Maxey took another step forward last season. His scoring has increased in each season he’s been in the league. Last season, the peripherals of AST, 3PM, and STL were all solid as well, making him a Top-5 finisher in 9-cat scoring.

❓ Big Question(s):  How much of a hit will Maxey’s numbers take given the Sixers’ new starting five?

🎯 Draft Range:  6-10

⭐ Fantasy Take: The Sixers are Maxey’s team. That’s a given. But the organization “went overboard” assembling a supporting cast. LeBron James, Jaylen Brown, and Joel Embiid are all high-usage players. So, a hit to Maxey’s numbers should not just be expected, but ultimately be assumed as inevitable. We now weigh his growth and star power versus his teammates’ need for the ball.

LeBron James, SF/PF

📊 Trend: ↔️

🗝️ Key Stats: PTS, REB, AST, FG%

⚠️ Risk: 🟢 ➡️ 🟠 Low to Medium

🔓 Value Unlock: Consistently play minutes in the high 20s, at least. Log 60-65 games

💡 Quick Hits: At this point, it feels almost futile to bet against LeBron in fantasy. The King may retire without actually declining. He’s no longer the primary scorer he once was, but LeBron’s game has evolved well with time.

❓ Big Question(s): What kind of stat line will we see from LeBron this season as he tries to be a complementary piece on the Sixers?

🎯 Draft Range: 45-55

⭐ Fantasy Take: Despite his age, James played a respectable 60 games last season, although that was a three-year low for the NBA legend. On one level, it’s beneficial for him to be surrounded by so much talent – he can take it easy and not feel pressured to do too much. While that can help him play more games, the production could take a slight hit. Time and again, James has proved doubters wrong. Now’s not the time to start.

Joel Embiid, C

📊 Trend: ⬇️

🗝️ Key Stats: PTS, REB, AST, FG%, FT%

⚠️ Risk: 🔴🔴 Very High

🔓 Value Unlock: Somehow, miraculously play 60 games

💡 Quick Hits: Embiid has shown that when he’s healthy, he can still produce at a high level. But unfortunately, he’s had a bad string of injury-plagued seasons. Based on averages alone, Embiid can deliver top-20 value with ease.

❓ Big Question(s): How many games will Embiid play this season?

🎯 Draft Range: 60-70

⭐ Fantasy Take: Embiid is probably the ultimate risk-reward pick in fantasy. Personally, I’d steer clear to avoid the headaches and heartaches that can arise from drafting him. At this point, drafting Embiid is less about projecting his production and more about deciding how much uncertainty you're willing to tolerate.

Jaylen Brown, SG/SF/PF

📊 Trend: ⬆️

🗝️ Key Stats: PTS, AST, 3PM, FG%, FT%

⚠️ Risk: 🟢 Low

🔓 Value Unlock: Capitalize on favorable matchups created by the Sixers’ star power

💡 Quick Hits: Brown is coming off the best season of his career in fantasy, carrying the Celtics in the absence of Jayson Tatum (Achilles) in 2025-26. Now with the Sixers, a far more stacked roster, it’s hard to imagine Brown to repeat or come close to last season’s production.

❓ Big Question(s): What can Brown bring to the table this season? How big a hit will his production and fantasy value take?

🎯 Draft Range: 55-65

⭐ Fantasy Take: The best source of optimism for Brown would be potential multiple rest days for both Joel Embiid and LeBron James. Brown's path to value is difficult to see. His scoring volume should fall, and without elite contributions in another category, there's little room to absorb that decline.

VJ Edgecombe, SG

📊 Trend: ⬆️

🗝️ Key Stats: PTS, AST, STL, 3PM, FT%, TO

⚠️ Risk: 🟢 Low

🔓 Value Unlock:  Let his defense and transition game create fantasy value without needing heavy usage

💡 Quick Hits: Edgecombe was one of the rookies in his class who had a phenomenal season. As a result, he was unanimously named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. He showed brilliant potential on both ends of the floor.

❓ Big Question(s): Can Edgecombe find enough usage?

🎯 Draft Range: 75-85

⭐ Fantasy Take: Touches will not come easy for VJ this coming season, but he’s also someone who can benefit from the defensive gravity that his teammates have, leaving him open for some easy shots. Still, the question remains, “how much ball will be left for the sophomore after the Sixers’ stars have had their fill?”

👀 Players to Watch: Anfernee Simons, Adem Bona, Dean Wade
